I’m back in my India!

This is originally from my previous facebook group ‘Brittany Goes Global,’ (wanna know how I got the blog name? ;)) in which I sent messages to friends about my travels with Global College’s CRC Program through Taiwan, Thailand, India, and Turkey. This post was not originally associated with this blog, but I have put it up here in the correct date. As you can see, my writing is not quite up to par with what it is now 🙂 But I thought you readers would still find it informative and entertaining.

Hey guys,
The past two weeks I’ve spent soaking up the sun in Florida, visiting friends, spending Christmas with my family, and trying to accept the reverse culture shock of being back in the United States for such a short period of time. Now I’m back on the road for another six month haul.

Well, it’s been eight long sufferable months, and I am finally back in My India. I first started off my trip in Delhi with Tsering for 3 days, who I also haven’t seen in eight months, so that was an amazing experience for me but all the more heartbreaking when I had to leave to go to South India for school. Here I am now in Bangalore. I’ve never been to Bangalore before, I never traveled in the South and it is a LOT different.

First off, things are WAY more expensive. The rooms, the food.. I hate that. It’s still beautifully chaotic which I’m sure doesn’t change no matter where you go in India, so I was a bit cheered up by that. I yawned through our class lectures yesterday on what to expect in India as I’ve already been here, and then we went out to this incredibly posh dinner which freaked me out. I don’t travel expensively in India, and to spend 400 rupees on one meal is inconceivable to me. I’ve been a bit sad here and I’m missing Carpe Diem- I’m having a very different experience than my first trip in India. But I’m taking it one step at a time and I’m confident things will get better with each passing day- plus our schedule for India looks amazing, traveling all over South India and ending our trip in Varanasi. We had an amazing lecturer today on interreligious dialogue in India and I feel like I’ve learned so much.
Well there’s not much else to say, friends.

Until next time,
